, Wendy DeWitt found the blues while growing up in Sonoma County, CA through house parties and an inherited record collection of Memphis Slim, Otis Spann, and James Cotton recordings. The piano work of Otis Spann especially influenced the young artist and Wendy began to forge a solid left hand and highly rhythmic piano style, accompanied by vocals reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt and Marcia Ball. By the age of 23 Wendy already had several years of traveling across the US and Canada under her belt and was back in San Francisco hooking up with Apple Jack Walroth and Chicago Blues Power. Wendy has toured as piano player for Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, worked with Otis Rush, Sam Moore, and Steve Freund, recording on Steve's C For Chicago at Delmark's Chicago studio. A Chicago native, Kirk Harwood moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in time to participate in a major peak of musical creativity from Bay Area artists. Trained as a jazz drummer, Kirk became an integral part of The Norton Buffalo Stampede appearing on the seminal Norton Buffalo album Lovin in the Valley of the Moon (Capital) and touring major venues across the US and Canada. He further refined a rock steady yet freely creative blues style while working with Roy Rodgers and Huey Lewis.
